Accessibility Profiles activate multiple tools with the aim of improving website accessibility based on user needs or preferences. Profiles include:

Screen Reader aims to convert website text into audible speech for users with visual impairments or reading difficulties.

• Text Size allows website visitors to adjust the website text size.
• Line Height allows website visitors to adjust the spacing between lines of website text.
• Text Spacing allows website visitors to adjust the spacing between website text characters.
• Text Alignment allows website visitors to adjust the alignment of website text.

Graphics Tools aim to optimize website appearance for users with visual impairments or sensory sensitivities.

• Color Saturation allows website visitors to adjust the intensity of website colors.
• Color Contrast allows website visitors to adjust the contrast between website text and background.
• Hide Images allows website visitors to hide website images.
• Stop Animations allows website visitors to disable website CSS motion effects and GIF animations.

PROTERGON takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

• There is an access bar for people with disabilities in the physical office location of the company.
• Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.
• Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Protergon’s accessibility statement is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Protergon is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

Known limitations for Protergon:

1. Heading Hierarchy: Some headings do not follow the correct heading hierarchy, which can cause problems for screen reader users. We plan to fix this over the course of 2025.
2. Page title: Page titles are not always sufficiently descriptive because they do not include the name of the site. We plan to fix this over the course of 2025.
3. External links open without warning: Some links open a new window (or tab) without warning. We plan to fix this over the course of 2025.
